The Community Circle Program can help you resolve conflicts in our communities. Run by the Housing Student Conflict Resolution team (HSCR), this program invites students to accept responsibility if they have acted in a way that negatively impacts other students in the community. If a student successfully completes the Community Circle Program, the incident will be removed from their record. Circles are only offered for first-time violations.
Community Circle is a group-meeting involving the following: respondents, students who have violated the Community Living At Michigan (CLAM) Policy, impacted parties, Resident Advisors, Hall Directors, Housing Security officers, other affected parties and representatives from OSCR.
Expectations for participation in a Community Circle:
- Accept responsibility for charges.
- Be willing to share thoughts during circle.
- Cooperate with circle facilitator.
- Listen to other’s stories and opinions.
- Attend circle intake meeting and circle meeting.
The Housing Student Conflict Advisory Board is always looking for students who would like to support their communities by being a part of the Student Conflict Advisory Board.
